There are many differences between this version and the previous version. The purpose, however, is the same: To get your application to market as quickly as possible while ensuring that you deliver the best quality software.
Here are the steps in the process:
Upload your application. It needs to be packaged in a ZIP file.
Pretest your application. Currently this determines what devices will be capable of running your application. A list will be generated. Note that you cannot fail pretesting.
Fulfill the UTC 2.0 submission requirements. The latest version of the Unified Testing Criteria requires that the you upload a graphic file with a description of the basic flow of the application. In addition, you need to fill out a form describing the characteristics of your application.
Choose a Testing Provider. Once you reach this step you should already have a good idea of who you want to test your application. Select that tester and send them an email that your application is ready. You will be notified by the testing provider that they have downloaded your application.
The last step will be reached for two reasons: 1. your application failed testing or 2. it passed. If it failed there will be a report describing the reasons. If your application has passed then you can download your signed application – it has succesfully passed through the process.
You can stop at any step and resume it later. You can have mulitple applications in different steps, all at the same time. The home page has a list of your applications that are currently in the process.
We wish you success!
